The Week 2 Monday Night Football matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders will be the first time that we see the NFL in Sin City, so it only makes sense to throw a couple of wagers down. You know, in the spirit of being in the home of American sports betting.
In this article, I will identify the best player props from the Raiders-Saints matchup on Monday night. In today’s article, I’ll switch things up a bit and use a couple of different lines from DraftKings Sportsbook and PointsBet.
If you would like to recap my writings from the entire Week 2 slate, read them here.
Jared Cook – Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-112) DraftKings Sportsbook or PointsBet
I already put my own money on this bet last night and barring injury, I’m not sure there’s any way that Cook doesn’t hit this number. Since Drew Brees returned from his injury last season, Cook has totaled at least 50 yards or a TD in all of those 10 games. Add in the fact that WR Michael Thomas is OUT, and now Brees has no choice but to look for Cook more often.
Last season, the Raiders ranked 30th in pass efficiency defense. This season, they allowed 270 passing yards and 30 points to Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. In addition, Las Vegas allowed 54.3 yards per game to TEs (11th worst) and nine TDs overall (third worst) last season.
FanDuel Sportsbook has Cook’s number at 52.5 receiving yards, so taking it on DraftKings or PointsBet is the better move here.
Josh Jacobs – Under 69.5 Rushing Yards (-110) FanDuel Sportsbook
I know that everyone is excited about Jacobs having a big first Week 1 against the Panthers, but this is a much better run defense he’ll see this time around. In fact, it’s probably the best run defense in the NFL.
The Raiders have made more of an effort to get Jacobs involved in the passing game, as evidenced by four catches on six targets for 46 yards. We’re just looking for the Saints defense to limit him in the other aspect of his game. It is worth noting that Jacobs averaged 3.7 yards per carry in the season opener.
Alvin Kamara – Over 37.5 Receiving Yards (-110) DraftKings Sportsbook
With Thomas out of the Saints lineup, look for head coach Sean Payton to get his best all-around player the ball in more passing situations. Kamara hasn’t been as dynamic out of the backfield as you’d think, with only three of his last seven games going for 30+ receiving yards.
As we all know, New Orleans has a great wealth of skill players that can get the job done at a moment’s notice. However, with the bright lights of Monday, it feels like a big spot for Kamara to show the world that his skills haven’t waned off yet. In Week 1, though, he did five catches on eight targets for 51 yards and a TD.
