Honestly, I’m surprised it’s even that high.
But they go on to point out that the few that do walk away with money walk away, on average, with just $150 bucks. So that’s a lot of work, anxiety, and stress for a relatively small amount of money.
Sadly, according to the National Council on Problem Gambling almost 6 million Americans have a gambling addiction! That’s a shocking statistic.
So if you want entertainment, by all means, walk into a casino. Bring a set amount of cash with you and leave your cards in your hotel room. When the money’s gone walk away entertained.
If you want to make real money in this world, you’ll have to focus on other things which I get into below.
Are their professional gamblers who make a living gambling?
The short answer is yes.
But of all the millions of people who gamble each and every day, only 0.5% of them could be considered professional gamblers. (source)
And most of those people bet on things like horse racing and football games. In other words, they aren’t doing it (for the most part) by playing poker or blackjack.
But bear in mind that just because someone is called a “professional gambler” doesn’t make them a millionaire.

That’s a pretty small window, 5%, where you need to land to do better than just break even. Would you invest your money in a stock where there was only a 5% chance of making money on it?
I don’t think so.

Don’t get me wrong. Blogging is not a get-rich-quick-scheme, at least not if you’re doing it right. But it is an outstanding way to start a side-hustle that could easily grow into something larger than your 9 to 5 paycheck.
